The exam
You can take the certification exam online with the National Healthcareer Association, or in person with MedCA.

The median wage is about $43,600 a year, or about $21 an hour.
Where it leads
The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects phlebotomy jobs to grow 6% over the next ten years, and counts about 18,400 openings a year. Many phlebotomists go on to train as lab technicians or nurses.
